Information Technology Science (ITS)

IT and Computer careers continue to grow at a remarkably fast pace. Companies continue to rely more on computers for every aspect of their businesses. Demand is high for IT professionals in the computer systems design industry as well as network analysts, database administrators and most other technical fields.

The Diploma in Information Technology provides students with a strong basic foundation to develop robust application systems for businesses and public organizations.

Students will be equipped with the essential knowledge of Information Systems processes and technical skills required to harness the power of information and Internet technologies. Students will also be able to specify, design and develop effective information systems that fulfill business information needs.

Through classroom and laboratory experience students receive instruction and can begin to develop skills in software scripting, programming languages, and other related technical subjects. In this program, students are taught how to perform tasks associated with software application development and its modification.

Graduates of this program can begin to prepare for career opportunities in various fields involving computer software development in a variety of entry-level positions.

To qualify for this program the admission requirements, as stated below

MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Admission in this Program is through any of the two avenues:

  • Holders of Advanced Level of Education (A-level) Certificate with at least ONE Principal pass in any of the following subjects: Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Economics, Geography, Technical Drawing, Food Nutrition, Entrepreneurship and Agriculture.
  • Holders of O-level Certificate with at least a credit pass in Physics or Mathematics, AND a relevant Certificate from a recognized institution.
