Overview

The Government of Uganda, through the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology and National Guidance (MOICT & NG), has partnered with Coursera Inc. to deliver the Workforce Recovery Training program. This initiative aims to enhance digital skills among Ugandans and support workforce development in the country.

Partnership Launch

The partnership officially began on 1st October 2020, with the Uganda Institute of Information and Communications Technology (UICT) playing a key role in enrolling participants and overseeing the training program. The initial phase of the training concluded on 31st December 2020, marking a successful first step in this collaborative effort.


Training and Impact

UICT, in its ongoing partnership with Coursera, continues to provide training in various Coursera programs. To date, over 2000 participants have been trained and certified in a wide range of digital skills. Key areas of training include:

  • Data Science
  • Machine Learning
  • Artificial Intelligence (AI)
  • Digital Literacy

This training initiative has empowered participants with essential skills needed to thrive in the modern digital economy, significantly contributing to workforce development in Uganda.
