PRINCIPAL
Eng. Dr. Vincent B.A. Kasangaki is the current Principal of the Institute, and Secretary of the Governing Council. He is an electrical engineer specializing in Control Systems Engineering, and Electric Power Systems. He has considerable experience in institutional management and administration. Before joining the Institute in September 2003, Eng. Dr. Kasangaki was an Associate Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering, Makerere University, where he worked for 27 years. He is a member of the Uganda Institution of Professional Engineers, member of the Institute of Electronics and Electrical Engineers, New York, USA, and a Registered Engineer in Uganda. He is currently a member of the Uganda Electricity Regulatory Authority (ERA); Chairperson of the Appointments Board of the Mountains of the Moon University, Fort-Portal, Uganda; member of the Governing Council of Uganda Technical College-Kichwamba; and a member of the Rotary Club of Kampala North
INSTITUTE SECRETARY
Mrs. Margaret A. Wanyama is the Institute Secretary. She holds a B.A. of Makerere University (1980) and PGD in Project Planning and Management - Pan-Africa Institute for Dev. Zambia (1982). She has 26 years of experience in tertiary institution teaching, and management. She is also versed in curriculum development. She has been with the Institute since its inception in 2000. Prior to joining the Institute she worked with the former Uganda Posts and Telecommunications Corporation Training School where she rose from Instructor to Principal lecturer. Before that she had worked as with Nzamizi Institute of Social Development as a Lecturer.
ACADEMIC REGISTRAR
Mrs. Rosemary Odongo is the Academic Registrar. She holds a Med Degree of Nkumba University (2004), as well as a Post Graduate Diploma (1991), and B.A degree from Makerere University (1986). She has vast experience in classroom teaching as well as education management at both secondary and tertiary levels. She is a registered graduate trained teacher. She joined the Institute in April 2005 from Gulu University where she had been working as Assistant Academic Registrar. Prior to that, she had worked as Deputy Head teacher at St. Katherine Girls Secondary School, a Director of Studies at Mary Reparatrix Training Center, and a Lecturer at Nkumba College of Commerce.
HEAD OF DEPARTMENT OF ICT
Mr. Okumu Enos N'Sagara holds a BSc. Telecommunication Engineering (University of Sarajevo Yugoslavia). Cisco Internetwork Academy Programme Instructor. He served in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting as a broadcasting engineer and former Uganda Posts and Telecommunication Corporation as a Senior Instructor Transmission, where he acquired vast experience in telecommunications network planning, maintenance and trouble-shooting. He has vast experience in training needs assessment and curriculum design of tailor-made courses for ICT technicians and engineers.
HEAD OF DEPARTMENT OF MANAGEMENT
Mr. Sennabulya Sylivester holds an M.A. in Overseas Records Management and Archives Administration from the University of London (1993). He has vast experience working in the Uganda Public Service, where he worked from 1977 to 2000, and the United Nations Transitional Administration in East Timor where he served as a Consultant on the establishment of a computerized National Archives and National Records Centre from 2000 to 2002. He joined the Institute in 2003. He has been instrumental in the developing and teaching Records and Archives Management programme at the Institute.
BURSAR
Mr. Kizza Livingstone, ACCA, CPA (U) is the Institute Bursar. He is a member of the Association of Chartered Accountants (ACCA) of UK and Institute of Certified Public Accountant of Uganda ICPA (U). He graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) degree from Makerere University (2002) and holds a Diploma in Business studies (UDBS) of National College of Business Studies (1997) NCBS (Now MUBS). Before joining the Institute in November 2005, he held positions of Assistant Accountant at Makerere University Printery and Accountant at Makerere University Guesthouse Departments since 1998.
