Background:

Uganda Institute of Information and Communications Technology (UICT) is the designated Regional Academy in Uganda under the Cisco Networking Academy Program (CNAP). The main objective of the Academy is to bring the digital opportunities to Least Developed Countries (LDCs), thereby building bridges across the Digital Divide.
Cisco Systems is the world's leader in networking for the Internet and offers the industries broadest range of networking hardware products.
The CNAP program provides the opportunity for international certification and the courses offered include among others:
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
- IT Essentials I & II
- Fundamentals of Java
- Fundamentals of Network Security
- Fundamentals of Unix
- Fundamentals of Website Development
- Fundamentals of Wireless LAN
- Fundamentals of Voice and Data Cabling
The CNAP program is an e-learning model that delivers Web-based educational content, online assessment, student performance tracking, hands-on labs and instructor training support.
